Theorem Solutions is an independent UK headquartered company incorporated in 1990, with sales and support offices in the UK and USA and today the company is recognised as one of the world leaders in the field. 
In 1990 data exchange was mainly done using IGES for drawings and for wire frame and surface based 3D models, mainly individual parts. Today whilst IGES is still used for drawings, STEP is the prime method for exchanging 3D assemblies and parts defined by solid models. Over the last few years the need to share lightweight (visualization) models and native CAD models containing PMI (product manufacturing information) has arisen and PDF and DXF are frequently used for drawing exchange.
As the requirements have developed so has Theorem's product range and so we provide direct CAD to/from CAD, CAD to/from Visualisation (lightweight) formats and STEP based solutions. Today there is no simple one size fits all solution, the user's requirement will guide the selection of the optimum technology and Theorem are uniquely placed with our broad product range.

As the company name states we are a "solutions" company. Product Data Exchange is not just about converting data from System A to System B but also involves other business issues. Complementing our translation and interoperability products is a range of tools. Theorem Process Manager (TPM) can create significant business benefits for any business where data exchange activities are a bottleneck or impose disproportionately high costs through manually intensive processes. TPM automates, schedules, manages and controls data exchange processes internally and with suppliers. Data Exchange Navigator and other tools to interrogate, manipulate and edit assemblies and filter model data interactively, all as part of a data conversion process are also part of our portfolio. In addition we also have tools to analyse, repair and heal model data which is poor in quality, to enable it to be successfully converted.
Theorem is a totally independent company but enjoys good relationships with the various CAD and PLM vendors, including; Autodesk, Dassault Systemes, IBM, ICEM Technologies ( a Dassault company), PTC, SolidWorks, Spatial Technology and Siemens PLM Software(formerly UGS PLM), and is as such a user in house of products from these companies. The use of the various CAD systems supplied by these vendors is for development, testing and product support, support being an essential and on-going element of Theorem's business. Many of the CAD vendors re-sell Theorem's products under license, which further reinforces our relationship and provides valuable feedback to our development process.
